Custom Barres Gives Back! - Spring 2011 Recipient
Our daughter Te’a started dancing in 2008. Attending classes three days a week at Peridance in New York City, she has since developed a real passion for ballet. To practice at home she would enthusiastically wedge a broomstick between two chairs to create a ballet barre. So for her 11th birthday we decided to buy her a real ballet barre. After asking around and searching online, it grew apparent that the cost for a quality barre was out of our financial reach. In sharing my disappointment, someone from her dance school suggested I look at the Custom Barres website for reasonably priced, high quality barres. While exploring the site, Custom Barres clearly offered the most superior quality at a fair price point, but still
a bit over our budget. I called Custom Barres with hopes of purchasing a floor model or slightly used barre. Michal was very sweet, we ended up chatting for a while, about my daughter, ballet schools and dance teachers. Although she wasn't sure they had any floor models or used barres, she said she would try and find something for us. Michal said to hold tight and I would hear back from her.
What happened next was unexpected and thrilling!
Custom Barres chose Te'a, as the Spring 2011’s recipient of the Custom Barres “gives back” program, that awards a complimentary barre to a young deserving dancer. They constructed and shipped the barre in time for her 11th birthday!
The barre was easy to put together, strong and well crafted. Just like the ones they use in her school! Ecstatic, Te'a immediately called all her friends from dance to tell them her exciting news.
As parents, we always want the best for our children; and so with genuine gratitude we applaud Michal Pelicone and her staff for their kindness, generosity, and enthusiasm for helping young people to explore their potential.
